Can The Law of Attraction Help Me Be Happy Again

My husband and I have been married for only one year. He does not trust me and does not like me talking to anybody (whether on the phone or face to face). He is extremely jealous and controlling, even though I have nothing to hide from him.


Lately he has been saying he is tired of me because I don’t want to change, and he wants a divorce. He does not like any of my friends, who he knew and used to get along with before we got married, and they are not allowed to visit me in the house.

I have been seeking counselling from our church, but he has only attended once.

I don’t feel stable in our relationship anymore and don’t even want him to touch me.

I feel I cannot depend on him and it is difficult to plan long term, as I am very disappointed.

I don’t know what to do. I have become so negative because of what he keeps saying to me.

Do you think the Law of Attraction can help me be happy again?

How can I help him change his attitude, or is there any point?

Yes the Law of Attraction can make you happy again, but unfortunately it can, just as easily, keep you feeling the way you are, as it has been up to now.

You see the Law of Attraction is at work all the time, and whatever you are feeling inside, will be mirrored in your experiences outside.

It is often said that to attract the experiences you desire in your life, you must Ask, Believe and then Receive, but this method of applying the Law of Attraction, is often misunderstood.

How To Ask

It is quite obvious that you do not wish to be having these negative experiences in your life, and I am quite sure that you have made many requests for changes in your life. But Asking, isn’t as simple as making a request.

The Law of Attraction would be better understood if we called it the Law of Vibration, or the Law of Emotion, as the experiences you are going to have, are a result of the vibration or emotion you have been broadcasting.

In your question you state your feelings as.....
  • Unstable in your relationship.

  • Not wanting physical contact.

  • Not being able to depend.

  • And feeling disappointed.

So through this very law, you are asking for experiences in your life, that will result in you feeling or vibrating in this way, unstable, turned off, separated and disappointed.

Asking means, putting it out there emotionally.

If you want to be stable in your relationship, find out and hold on to the emotion that feeling stable will give you. Find the emotion of loving physical contact, the emotion of a dependable partnership and the emotion of being appreciated and pleased.

Learn to ‘Live in the spirit’ of the emotions as if you had these things now, and stop beating the drum of how bad things really are.

How To Believe

Most of our life experiences are interpreted in a way that depends on what we believe.

If we believe an experience will be negative, then we will seek out that part of an experience, which we can interpret as negative. In much same way, if we believe an experience will be positive, then we will seek out that part of an experience, that we can interpret as positive.

This is why it is often said that we cannot recognise a negative characteristic about a person, unless it is a belief about ourselves.

This could go some way to explaining the behaviour your husband is demonstrating, as his jealous and controlling actions must be based upon a belief he has about himself.

He must believe that you have an untrustworthy character, which unless he has evidence to support his beliefs, must be a belief he has about himself.

But you cannot use the Law of Attraction to manifest in another’s reality, therefore you must only concern yourself with your own beliefs.

Do you believe that you will...
  • Have a stable and loving relationship?

  • Have a rewarding physical relationship?

  • Have a dependable and trusting partner?

If not, then your beliefs are limiting the experiences you desire, and to experience your most wanted reality, you must uncover and remove your limiting beliefs.

There are a number of ways to do this.

Affirmations work well, because repeating a positive statement, in place of a limiting belief, will eventually convince your subconscious that the new positive statement is the new belief.

However for more deep-seated limiting beliefs I would tend to use something like EFT or The Sedona Method.

How To Receive

Often when we ask properly and believe that we will see the results we desire, we block the Law of Attraction by questioning the How’s, the Why’s and the Where’s.

Receiving is about letting go and having true faith, that what you ask for and what you trust in, will, without any shadow of a doubt, be manifested in your life.

But receiving isn’t about letting go and doing nothing. It’s about taking action, not just any action, but inspired, unquestionable and knowing action.

Getting the things you desire requires you to feel the emotions of already having them now, having true and complete trust that what you desire, shall be your experience, and taking the kind of action that you know and feel to be right.
