She met Jerry Hicks in 1980, and although initially she not interested in Jerry’s quest for answers, she became intrigued by a book called Seth Speaks
It was through reading this book that Esther and Jerry perused the idea of a ‘channelled’ being, and eventually sat with someone in communication with a non-physical being called Theo.
Through talks with Theo, Esther and Jerry started to meditate, which led, come nine months later, to the eventual contact with Abraham.
"This work that we're doing," say Jerry and Esther, "It's just been us—it's just been word of mouth—we've just been building the message by putting Abraham in front of people and letting them ask questions, questions, questions—and documenting it all."
