Excuses Begone! by Dr Wayne W. Dyer.
In answering the many Law of Attraction questions I receive, I describe the Law of Attraction as the way by which our reality is aligned to us as a match to our focused thoughts and feelings.
It could be said that the way we think and the way we feel makes up our vibration, and it is to this vibration that the Law of Attraction aligns events, circumstances and opportunities in order for us to continue to maintain the frequency that we vibrate.
If it is the Law of Attraction aligns things to our reality in response to our vibration, and our vibration is made up of our thoughts and feelings, not only does this put a lot of importance in what we think, but also the way we think, our beliefs, understanding and practiced thought that we have been conditioned with from a very early age.
In other words, what we were conditioned to think as a child, can still have an impact on our experiences today.
There is a poem by Dorothy Law Nolte that acts as a reminder of the importance of good parenting and the consequence of how we treat our children and how they are conditioned to think.

They learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility,
They learn to fight.
If children live with ridicule,
They learn to be shy.
If children live with shame,
They learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement,
They learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance,
They learn to be patient.
If children live with praise,
They learn to appreciate.
If children live with acceptance,
They learn to love.
If children live with approval,
They learn to like themselves.
If children live with honesty,
They learn truthfulness.
If children live with security,
They learn to have faith in themselves and others.
If children live with friendliness,
They learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

It is what we think that produces what we experience, and if we have been brought up with criticism, hostility, ridicule and shame, it is likely that our predominant thoughts as an adult are ones of disapproval, hostility, insecurity and remorse, and as the Law of Attraction always aligns experiences to us as a match to our thoughts, it is hardly surprising that some people find it difficult to align to their desires.
