The history of the Law of Attraction is something that is impossible to measure, as it began with the creation of the universe.
The Law of Attraction is the process that things of matching vibration are brought together, and is the force through which all things were drawn. It is through this force that everything we know and see was created.
It is the power by which worlds were molded, a power that you hold that allows you to create any reality you wish to experience.
If this Law has always existed, when was it that we, as intelligent beings, first became aware of the Law of Attraction?
The history of the Law of Attraction can be traced through ancient times through the teaching of many eastern teachers.
Buddha spoke of this Law when he told us that, "All that we are is the result of what we have thought."
Jesus also spoke of our power to create when we instructed us in the way to employ this Law, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." Mark 11:24
Also, in the book of Mathew the Bible offers us these words, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." And, "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
When you study the history of the Law of Attraction, you will find no actual reference to this Law by name, but you will find many references and examples of how you apply a creative principle so that a desired experience can be brought to life.
One of my favorite biblical Law of Attraction quotes is found in the book of Philippians;
"I think and speak positive. I focus on what is good. I refuse to fear or dwell on the negative."
But when it comes to the history of the Law of Attraction and the first use of the actual phrase, we would have to look to a chapter entitled 'The Unknowable' in Helen Blatvatsky's book, Isis Unveiled, which was published in 1887.
It was in the years after this first published mention of the words 'Law of Attraction' that authors such as Charles Haanel and Ralph Waldo Trine coined the phrase as the creative principle written in historical documents.
Many of these books that appear in the early history of the Law of Attraction are available at my free Law of Attraction eBook library.
These books make up some of the greatest books ever written on the subject of the Law of Attraction.
The Law of Attraction is the process that things of matching vibration are brought together, and is the force through which all things were drawn.
The following authors are my some of the earliest to describe the creative principle as a Law, and their books make particularly good reading.
Wallace Wattles studied the various religious beliefs and philosophies of the world including those of Descartes, Spinoza, Leibnitz, Schopenhauer, Hegel, Swedenborg, Emerson, and others.
He translated those studies into several books including The Science of Getting Rich. In the past 30 years, this book has been used as the basis to teach many people about the Law of Attraction, and was the inspiration for the movie, The Secret.
Charles Haanel put into books the ideas and methods he used to gain his success. Besides the Master Key System, which he wrote in 1912, he also wrote Mental Chemistry and The New Psychology. By 1933 The Master Key System had sold over 200,000 copies and then seemingly disappeared.
The Master Key System was originally written as a 24 part correspondence course and therefore is far more practical as a step by step building process, with weekly law of attraction exercises and lessons. It has also become the spine of our own training program Unlock The Power of You.
I have written the following pages about applying and the history of the Law of Attraction, you may also find my Law of Attraction Question and Answer section helpful, particularly if you are facing a specific unwanted condition.

The term Cause and Effect gives us a fundamental understanding of the Law of Attraction by splitting our experiences into two definite parts, the Cause and the Effect. Definition of The Law of Attraction
To come up with a definition of the Law of Attraction, we need to have an understanding of our surroundings, that everything in the universe is made from the same thing... Energy!
