How to focus on things? Can you tell me step-by-step?

First of all, what do we mean by the word focus?

It is often said that the Law of Attraction will bring to you, the experiences that match your focused thoughts and feelings.

In other words, what you are focusing on most of all, creates your reality. And if you wish to change your reality, you need to change your focus.

This line of thought, although true, can leave many people a little confused.

Here’s what I mean….

If you are in debt and you are having difficulty making ends meet, perhaps surrounded by unpaid bills and demands, your thoughts about money, up until now, have probably been of fear and worry.

Your focused thoughts and feelings have been ones of poverty and not enough, and your reality today is a perfect match to that focus.

Assuming that you knew nothing about the Law of Attraction, before creating that reality, and now you are looking for a change of experience.

This is when you are told, by many Law of Attraction teachers, that in order to change the reality that you have now you must change your focus. And the absolute best way to change your focus would be to emotionally visualize your desires, as if they were happening now.

This is all well and good, but in many cases, the act of visualizing where you want to be, from a place of where you don’t want to be, is rather like trying to move a mountain with a spade.

Yes it is all very well to visualize for 10 to 20 minutes each day, and to really get into the feeling of having your stuff now, but it is a really pointless exercise if you fall straight back into the fear and worry you had before you started.

Your focus isn’t your visualization, your focus is the most thought you have, and visualizing your desires, without removing the negative emotion that you have now, could even make things worse.

Why do I say that?

Because not only do you have the negative emotion you started with, but you also have the frustration that comes from the things you want, not turning up. These visualizations could be emphasising the lack of the very things you desire, and as your focus is lack, these things are kept from you.

So what would my advice be?

Well before I would try to attract the things I wanted, when my now experience was full of unwanted experiences, I would reach for the best parts of being in the now.

What do you have in your experience today that makes you feel good?

Write a list of all the good things you have going on now, everything that you are happy with, pleased with, the things that make you smile and laugh, the things you are excited about, looking forward to and positively anticipating.

Make these thoughts and feelings, your focus, and whenever a negative emotion creeps into your mind, and as soon as you are aware of it, do your best to forget it.

What I mean by forget it is get something for it, repeat you list of positive thoughts and emotions, for it is a fact that negative cannot exist in the presence of positive. And in this way, your focus will be on the best of now, and as you focus on the best of what you have, more of the best of what you wish for, shall become your experience.
