The Harder I Try The Less It Works

I watched the movie The Secret and have been practicing using the Law of Attraction but it seems like the harder I try the less it works.... and then it puts me in kind of a bad mood.


I have a boyfriend who is always so negative and he absolutely has the worse luck in the world, and when I'm with him it seems to fall on me to.

He is always paranoid about cops... and about other things... I feel like he might be the reason the Law of Attraction isn't working for me.

My question is how do I get him to believe that he is drawing these bad things to him... I don't know what to do?

We have been together for four years and in that time my life has seemed to drift into a downward slope since we have been dating.

He procrastinates, lie's, is very negative and makes me feel very insecure.

We recently broke up and for that amount of time my life seemed much lighter...and my heart a lot less heavier.

I seemed so positive and even started dating another guy but for some reason also started seeing my boyfriend again and the other relationship just fell apart as soon as I did...on both sides.

The thing is I already have proved to him, and he has to himself, that the Law of Attraction works...yet he just gets so wrapped up in what he feels that he lets it take control and because I can feel that, it make's me feel bad too, even if he doesn't say any thing to me or about me.

That is my other question, Is there some way I can over power his negativity?...I know in the movie it said "a positive thought is more powerful then a negative thought".

I really want to make me and him work I love him and he is a good person but he is so negative in everyway, even about me...

He always makes remarks like, I will cheat on him, which somehow makes me feel like I really will if the chance comes along. These remarks make me feel less in love with him, and fills me with negative thoughts about him...it just seems like we're both loosing and I don't know how to turn it around.

It is not unusual for people to get frustrated with their efforts of changing their reality. The trouble is that, it is their frustration that keeps the changes they want to see at bay.

When you focus on some goal, or something that you want to see manifest in your life, you should stay in that focus, it’s this constant checking to see if the changes have happened yet, which switches the focus from expectation to frustration.

This frustration becomes the new focus, the new emotion and the Law of Attraction duly obliges by giving you more of what your focusing on..... Frustration.

You really need to ‘chill out’ and stop worrying about the hows, whys and wherefores, because the more you notice what you don’t want, the more of what you don’t want, will keep turning up.

As for your boyfriend, the phrase, “you can bring a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink,” comes to mind.

You will never persuade him that the Law of Attraction works, you can introduce him to the ideas, but it his ability to respond to these ideas that will move him forward, not yours.

In your question, I here your ‘worst fears’ about your relationship, my concern for you is that it will be your worst fears that will manifest, if you’re not to careful.

Again you need to ease off your emotional hang ups towards your boyfriends seemingly positive or negative attitude, if you are truly positive in your outlook, his negativity will never bring you down, in fact it could be your positive nature, that could truly enlighten and empower him.

I would suggest that you read Esther and Jerry Hicks book, Ask and It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires

This book is the teachings of Abraham, through Ester Hicks, and will really give you the tools to go with the flow, or as they put ‘move with the stream,’ their ideas on living life in JOY, are probably the most respected in the Law of Attraction industry.

Another good read which will help you, would be John Grays book How to Get What You Want and Want What You Have

Choosing your vibration/negative or positive

Why would any of us want to be with a person who has drained the lifesource out of us? I think this too, along with the LOA should come into practice that none of us should ACCEPT mal treatment and constant negativity from any source.

Even if this person sucessfully practices the LOA, the constant input of a negative source from outside herself should be a sign that something isn't right. That she is "Choosing" a person who manifests negativity and if she remains with a person like this, it will ultimately conflict with gaining benefits from the LOA or her ability to recognize the contrasts between herself when she is NOT with a person who supplies this negative source and when she is by herself... or with a person who supplies a POSITIVE source.

We can't change anyone we can only change ourselves so if she has been choosing to remain in this relationship and ignores the opportunity to LEAVE it behind, thus leaving her own negative vibrations behind, then she will continue to defy any positive benefit the LOA can bring.

I absolutely have problems believing that" letting go", works. I have followed the LOA for YEARS, and when I remember visualizing myself with someone... I let go. FIVE YEARS LATER...NADA!
I do EXACTLY what I am told! Here's the funny part. When I throw my hands up in disgust, looking to the sky, questioning the LOA in frustration..WALLA! Within DAYS..YES DAYS..I get what I want!
Why the Hell did screaming work, but having gratitude, faith,detachment,take forever????
Please take me by the hand and show me YOUR proven steps....THAT YOU DO DAILY..so I can consistently get it right. PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAASE?
