The Perfect Romance

Before I knew what the Law of Attraction was I used it, as everyone does. I met a girl who was the type I’ve always wanted, and we had a good friendship. I got to the point where I did not feel like I was attractive enough, or interesting enough for this rare type of girl and I ended up dating a completely different girl. Later on I find that she did in fact want a romantic relationship, and enjoyed my company very much.

So what is a good tip to keep someone from doing something like settling for something you know you don’t want, just because it seems like you can have it more easily?

Next, I wanted to see a shooting star, with a particular person at a specific place. That was my first attempt of applying the Law of Attraction. It worked. The problem is that something bad happened with my lack of understanding on the whole thing. I needed money for school, and did not get it. I was forced to drop out. (I know it was because I was more focused on not having the money now, but did not then) Needless to say, it hindered my faith in this for a long time.

What is the best way to hold on to my shooting star in times of adversity, (metaphorically speaking of course)?

Now that I finally understand a little more, but am still not fully aware of this power, I would like an outside insight on this;

My roommate and me have always written stories together since middle school. One thing we both had was the main character’s love interest was always our ideal relationship. Now with that in mind; we live in a small town that has a rare occurrence of new faces. We have the goal of meeting the embodiments of our romantic dreams. There are several houses for sale around this area, and one way I see of meeting with this girl, is someone moving in, actually that would be my favorite possibility.

So what are some good tips on meditation, visualization etc. For this type of thing? Is it ineffective to want a certain body type, look, and personality (It’s not specific, just a generalized idea.)

Law-of-Attraction-Guide Reply

You attract to your life what you give you focus, energy and attention to, whether wanted or unwanted. In other words, all your experiences in life are caused by what you are focusing on most strongly, whether you are conscious of it or not.

This is often referred to the Law of Cause and Effect, and if you understand the process of Cause and Effect, you can change the Cause, and by doing so, change the Effect on your life for the better.

The Law of Cause and Effect is this, Thoughts are Causes, and Conditions are Effects.

If there is an unwanted Effect in your life you can trace that Effect back to the things that you have done to Cause it, or the thoughts you have had to Cause it..

As you explained in your question, when you needed money for school, because you focused on not having the money, that was the reality you experienced.

But that doesn’t mean the Law of Attraction did not work, in fact it worked perfectly! You focused on not having the money, and the Law of Attraction obliged. And when you really start to analyse your experiences, and bring them back to the thoughts you
have had, you will see that it works every time, without fail.

You are indeed, an expert at creating your own reality, and the most wonderful part of this is, that at any time you can start making different choices and different decisions, taking different steps and you will inevitably arrive at a different place, than where you are today.

But, just as much as all success, happiness and achievement comes from conforming to these principles, so will all failure, unhappiness and underachievement come from failing to conform to these laws, and the only reason that you will fail to apply the Law of Attraction, especially while using all the right techniques, is that they have some Limiting Beliefs about yourself.

Limiting Beliefs are what I call the Law of Attraction Blockers, and will usually manifest themselves in emotions like Fear, Worry, Insecurity, Frustration, Disappointment, Anger, Sadness or any other Negative Emotion you care to express.

You see if you spend an hour a day visualizing your desires, and spend the rest of your waking moments feeling Fear and Worry, or regarding yourself unattractive and uninteresting, what is your Focus?

You started your question outlining one of your Limiting Beliefs, “I got to the point where I did not feel like I was attractive enough, or interesting enough for this rare type of girl.” And unless you deal with this way of thinking, you will always try to settle for second best.

In regards to your final question, on visualizing.

In the opening lesson of the famous book The Master Key System, Charles Haanel, tells us to, “Live the spirit of these things until they become yours by right. It will then become impossible to keep them from you.”

I guess this is the secret to the Law of Attraction, and how, if you follow this advice, all your desires will manifest.

This is why Law of Attraction teachers tell you to visualize your desires, and to incorporate feelings and emotions into your visualizations. It is these feelings and emotions that make up your vibration, and it is your vibration that you use to ask.

This is what Hannel means by “Living in The Spirit of a Thing.” What he is saying is that we must act as if we had already achieved our desires, we must have the vibration of ‘having it now.’

Believing is an important step as it means having the faith and belief that what you ask for shall, without any doubt, become your experience. It means letting go and trusting that you shall receive exactly what you ask for.

If you are wondering when, where and how your goals shall be manifested, this is a sure sign that you are not believing and that you are no longer living in the spirit of your desire.

Abraham-Hicks describe this as being in The Vortex, and their book, The Vortex: Where the Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships, is well worth reading.
