The Power of Attraction In Action

This story is actually a work in progress, but still it is about the power of attraction in action.

I have been an artist all my life, drawing and painting at different stages, always reaching out for a place to settle with my art.

Years back I tried my hand at painting windows as a business, but this didn't satisfy the creative energy that was always present.

Then an amazing thing happened.

I was working at a Tim Horton's in a nearby town a few years ago and the staff had to draw names to exchange gifts at Christmas.

The girl I picked had a little girl who was so adorable and it came to me that I could draw her portrait and frame it for her mom.

So that's what I did.

I used a large box and laid the portrait in the bottom, covering it with lots of paper and then put a few little gifts on top so it would look like they were the real presents.

She took them out and said thank you and looked a little surprised and maybe a little disappointed.

Her sister was there and was in on the whole event.

She had actually supplied me with the photo that I used to create the portrait, but hadn't seen the finished picture so it was a surprise for her as well, and she pointed out that there was more in the box.

Well Amanda pulled out the extra wrapping and found the picture in the bottom and the reaction was more than I could have ever hoped for.

Both of them gasped and then cried. They couldn't stop looking at it!

After that there was no question that this was my calling.

I use this story because it was at that point that I knew what my true passion was. It was to give and receive the joy that creating works of art this way brought, and every single picture brings the same feeling, every time.

Since that day I was convinced that I would be a portrait artist and I've pursued my dream of having a business. I've worked at other jobs to support myself and family, then in January 09 I took the leap and went on leave from a call center to begin my new life as an entrepreneur.

I'm a firm believer in intentional living but the last few weeks I almost lost my focus.

I started to worry that there wouldn't be enough money to pay the bills and all the doubts that my business wouldn't succeed began to haunt me.

I became depressed, focusing on the what if's.

In 2 months since setting up my business I hadn't received any jobs so what if no one would order a picture?

What if I did go back and my job wasn't there anymore?

Then the universe opened up and gave me a gift. My daughter had bought The Secret and left if for me to read while I took care of my grandchildren so she could go to a conference for her business.

There it was, the answer to my dilema. That is the power of the law of attraction. Even when I doubted my own ability to be successful, the universe stood behind me. All I had to do was BE AWARE!

After reading this amazing book, I knew that I had to keep travelling my road to success.

I talked to my husband and he agreed to keep the bills paid and supported everything I wanted to do. My family and friends are totally behind me 100% so now I just have to do the rest.

I'm drawing up my visualization board and putting out the intention and doing the footwork and I expect results right away.

So for all of you out there who are afraid, or are having doubts about your own success, listen to someone who was there..

Life will give you what you need, what you want and sometimes it will pick you up when you need it most, if you just stay open to the power, the energy within, and never give up!
