Think and Grow Rich
The Thirteen Steps to Riches

A Review of Think and Grow Rich
By Napoleon Hill

American born Napoleon Hill is considered to have influenced more people into success than any other person in history.

He has been perhaps the most influential man in the area of personal success principles and development of techniques for attracting abundance. Through his classic book Think and Grow Rich he has helped millions, and has been an important factor in the lives of many successful people.

Napoleon Hill was born in 1883 in a one-room cabin on the Pound River in Wise County, Virginia. His early career as a reporter helped finance his way through law school. It was here that he was given an assignment to write a series of success stories of famous men, and his big break came when he was asked to interview steel-magnate Andrew Carnegie.

Andrew Carnegie, a Scottish immigrant with no money, had worked to become a giant steel manufacturer and was, at that time the richest man in the world.

Napoleon Hill Portrait Photograph Carnegie believed that any one could achieve the same success as him and wanted his success principles passed on to the world.

Mr. Carnegie commissioned Hill to interview over 500 millionaires to find a success formula that could be used by the average person.

These included Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Henry Ford, Elmer Gates, Charles M. Schwab, Theodore Roosevelt, William Wrigley Jr, John Wanamaker, WIlliam Jennings Bryan, George Eastman, Woodrow Wilson, William H. Taft, John D. Rockefeller, F. W. Woolworth, Jennings Randolph, among others.

Hill became an advisor to Andrew Carnegie, and with Carnegie's help he formulated a philosophy of success, drawing on the thoughts and experience of a multitude of rags-to-riches tycoons.

It took Hill over 20 years to produce his book, a classic in the Personal Development field called "The Law of Success," we use this original version of Hill's work in our Online Law of Attraction Training Programe, Unlock The Power of You.

The Law of Success was condenced and republished with the name Think and Grow Rich, with the first copy being sold in 1937.

Eleven years later, in February 1948, Coronet magazine polled 300 successful young men and women, asking, What books had most influenced their lives and contributed to their success? Think and Grow Rich was ranked fourth.

Some 38 years later USA Today published a list of the top 10 selling paperbacks about investments, Think and Grow Rich ranked No.1. Incredibly in 2006, Think and Grow Rich was ranked 7th on "The BusinessWeek Best-Seller List" of the current top 15 best-selling paperback business books.

The book teaches The thirteen steps to riches according to Napoleon Hill.

The 13 Success Principles are; Desire, Faith, Auto-suggestion, Specialized Knowledge, Imagination, Organized Planning, Decision, Persistence, The Master Mind, The Mystery of Sex Transmutation, The Subconscious Mind, The Brain, The Sixth Sense and outwit your Fears.

Hill’s success principles are as relevant today as they were 100 years ago, Hill teaches you to think differently, and it is a must read.

It gives you clear guidelines in how to set goals and reach them and how to make clear plans to follow. You are shown how you can realise your highest potential, and succeed in anything you set your mind to.

It also teaches you not to give up, and see all mistakes as learning opportunities. Napoleon Hill teaches that successful people never considers temporary failure as a permanent defeat.

Although this is not a traditional how to Law of Attraction training book, Napoleon Hill has planted a lesson, for the reader to "catch" within the details of the book, The Supreme Secret.

Many readers regard the book as, simply the gospel of American Capitalism. Work Hard, Provide Outstanding Quality and Respect Your Customers, with an underlining principle that anybody can become rich and powerful.

Hill never gives us a profound formula to acquiring wealth and prosperity, although he hints that it exists and some may find the Supreme Secret of this book a little elusive;

Would Think and Grow Rich have had the success it’s seen, if it had given us The Supreme Secret Formula on a plate? Probably not. Historically, the powerful people of our society have made sure such books have disappeared.

Napoleon Hills acknowledgement to Charles Haanel on The Master Key System, possible gives us a clue,

"My present success and the success which has followed my work as President of the Napoleon Hill Institute is due largely to the principles laid down in The Master Key System."

It’s interesting that of the business people Hill interviewed including Edison, Bell, Ford and Carnegie have all been documented as Law of Attraction followers.

Perhaps the secret lies within the title of the book Think and Grow Rich.

What Hill has done here is a clever mix of good business practise with a healthy dose of the Law of Attraction thrown in. Not to much to take credibility away from such a fine piece of work, but enough to gain the fundamental principles of the Law of Attraction. The secret is here, it is just simply the sum of parts rather than an explicit roadmap.

A technique that Napoleon Hill clearly explains in this book that I think many people will find helpful is the art of autosuggestion. He lays out the steps of combining reason, visualization and emotion to realize your dreams.

It is one of those books, which makes a lasting impression.

Hill passed away in November 1970 after a long and successful career writing, teaching, and lecturing about the principles of success.

His work stands as a monument to individual achievement and is the cornerstone of modern motivation.

Inspirational Quotes from Think and Grow Rich

Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.

A quitter never wins and a winner never quits.

Success requires no explanations. Failure permits no alibis

I would suggest downloading Think and Grow Rich from our Law of Attraction Pdf Library, this is my third of the Big 3 Must Read Law of Attraction Books, and is a book that you may want in the Think and Grow Rich Print Version.

Think and Grow Rich is still a highly respected and read book. It has sold millions of copies and is a "Bible" for people who are searching for financial freedom. Although the book can be a little formal and repetitive, the essence of Think and Grow Rich is summed up by this inspirational quote.

"Everything Your Mind Can Conceive
You Can Achieve"
