Use The Law of Attraction To Manifest A Promotion

I've been using Law of Attraction for years and thought I was pretty good at it until now. I am a mental health counselor and had been planning on a move to another city to be closer to family. Then out of the blue, the executive director of our agency told me he planned to promote me to the mental health supervisors spot before he retired in a year or so.
This would be a dream job for me. Then without asking him, the current mental health supervisor announced she was grooming her trainee to inherit her job. The Director didn’t take too well to the news of a promise of promotion without asking him first, but he told me to “keep the peace” he’ll allow her to be groomed and basically wait for her to “screw up.” (She knows nothing of what was said to me.)
I don't like the "feel" of this as it feels dishonest. I am intending to become the supervisor now but also see myself becoming attached to the outcome and therefore anxious which I know is creating more reasons to feel anxious.
Every day I go to work, I see her being groomed which looks like my manifesting is not working. I know the universe can do ANYTHING but what, if anything, can I do?
On a side note, the young lady being groomed is a young intern who is not even licensed yet. Also the Director made it very clear he wants me in the job. He's just playing the politics. But it sure "feels" yucky!

Following Law of Attraction teachings, you would come to an understanding that no experiences are random, instead they are specific events that are brought to us because of our predominant thoughts and feelings.
If for example, we were to predominantly think and feel abundant, as a match to our thoughts and feelings, we would align to events that lead us to a reality of plenty,.
On the other hand, if we were to predominantly think and feel lack, as a match to our way of thinking we would align to events that lead us to a reality of inadequacy,.
When learning of this, many people will look at their current unwanted experiences, and attempt to change this reality by trying to change the way they think and feel.
If someone was in debt, as this is the experience they have aligned to, obviously their predominant thoughts and feelings must be about being in debt. After hearing about the Law of Attraction, this person might try to change this unwanted debt experience by trying to change the focus of their thoughts and feelings to abundance.
Although this may seem like a perfect method to apply the Law of Attraction, this process is easily derailed if this person does not make steps to deal with their thoughts and feelings towards the debt they are now experiencing.
It is perfectly understandable that many people believe that by focusing their thoughts and feelings towards the reality they wish to experience, that this reality shall manifest. However, if these people are dealing with an unsatisfactory reality and their current experiences in no way match their desires, they will have a tendency to feel bad, which is simply a feeling that represents the distance from where they are now, to where they want to be.
This is probably why you are not feeling so good about your current circumstances, and this ‘bad’ feeling you are experiencing is really a representation of where you are now compared with where you
desire and expect to be.
The catch 22 here is that, for as long as someone thinks and feels about the reasons they are not receiving their desires, and feel the distance between where they are and where they want to be, their predominant thoughts and feelings would be towards the obstacles in the way of their ideal manifestation, and as we have seen, the Law of Attraction will align events that lead people to a reality that matches their thoughts and feelings, which must mean that these people will align to obstacles that hold their most wanted reality at a distance.
In the example of attracting abundance, what would be the use of someone focusing on having money when they exercise no control over the thoughts and feelings they have when they are dealing with their now reality of lack?
In your case, I am sure that it does not feel good that someone has been offered a position that was promised to you, and I am sure that you are feeling the difference of where you are now, when compared to where you want to be.
But understand that the 'bad' feeling you are experiencing is simply a vibrational signal to show you that you are not matching the thoughts and feelings of your desires, and this signal is telling you to change the way you are thinking and feeling.
As an analogy, think about when you have booked a holiday, and that feeling of excited expectation you have. Do you let the possibility of something going wrong in the process of going on holiday spoil this feeling? And if something was to go wrong, wouldn’t you simply change your travel plans so that your holiday was still to manifest?
The same could be said for any 'life' destination, Yes you may know where you want to go, and yes, you may be filled with excited anticipation when the route to your desires has been revealed. But, as with all journeys, sometimes we need to re-adjust, and we may need to re-focus and re-define what it is we want, and where we are going.
And, for as long as we stay focused, for as long as we vibrationaly align to the future we most want to hold, the route shall always be revealed.
You may see your colleague as an obstacle in the way of you achieving what you want. The danger here is that the longer you focus on her being an obstacle, the longer she will obstruct you, and even if she was to be removed, the perfect matching obstacle that creates a reality that matches the way you think and feel shall be found.
Give your attention to the obstacles that block your desires and you shall have plenty of obstacles to focus on.
Or, concern yourself with your desires, your vibration, and your thoughts and feelings, and for as much as you vibrational match the things you desire, is as much as your desires shall come to light.
